Towards scholarly encounters amongst STS scholars in Germany
STS-hub.de offers a meeting of scholars across STS networks and associations @ Aachen, 15-17 March 2023
Science & Technology Studies (STS) has become a recognised, delineated academic field in the international research landscape. In Germany, however, STS is rather dispersed among existing academic disciplines, research institutes, and loosely connected academic networks and associations. To strengthen the interconnectedness of STS in Germany, we organise STS-hub.de, a conference series that brings together German organisations, labs, and research groups that are more or less closely related to STS. You find an overview of already participating groups, organisations, and networks below.
The initial STS-hub.de conference is scheduled for March, 15-17, 2023, at the Human Technology Center in Aachen, themed “Circulations”. The event is organised by a steering and managing committee as well as a local organising committee. The steering and managing committee consists of Ingmar Lippert (chair) and, alphabetically ordered, Stefan Böschen, Paula Helm, Jan-Felix Schrape, Cornelius Schubert, Mareike Smolka, Jan-Peter Voß and Lisa Wiedemann; it is supported by Sandra Abels; and the local organising committee consists of Stefan Böschen (chair) and, alphabetically ordered, Sonja Berg, Lilia Bolz, Ana de la Varga, Lennart Göpfert & the Leonardo team, Stefan John, Sally Römgens and Mareike Smolka.
